Laminate is the ultimate copycat of the flooring universe. Its uncanny
ability to visually replicate the look of wood, stone, brick
and ceramic is possible due to highly detailed photography
of the genuine material. So, when you look at laminate,
you're looking at an image identical to the real McCoy. The
image is coupled with advanced embossing that adds realistic
texture to the floor surface. Sometimes it is difficult to
distinguish laminate from the material it is mimicking.
Laminate also has an easy to clean surface that protects the
floor from stains, fading or wear. Laminate's powers of
impersonation allow you to get the look and feel of rare,
exotic wood or expensive stone at a fraction of the cost,
with no natural material drawbacks.

Laminate construction layers


Laminate is constructed of four layers:

  • The back is reinforced with melamine
    for structural stability and moisture resistance.

     

  • The ultra dense core board provides
    impact resistance and stability. It also features an
    edge sealing treatment that provides even further
    structural stability.

     

  • The decorative layer, which provides
    the floor's beauty,  is actually a highly detailed
    photograph that gives the laminate the appearance of
    wood, tile, stone, etc..

     

  • The Melamine wear layer is a tough,
    clear finish reinforced with aluminum oxide, one of
    the hardest mineral compounds known to man, to
    resist staining, fading, surface moisture, and wear.

 

No floor comes closer to true maintenance-free performance. Ordinary
vacuuming or sweeping is usually all it takes, with
occasional wiping.  Spills happen, but laminate floors take
them in stride. Juice, wine, grease, and chocolate are
easily wiped away. Cigarette burns, asphalt, shoe polish,
paint, ink, crayon, and nail polish come clean with alcohol
or nail polish remover. Candle wax and chewing gum can be
gently scraped away.
